The type of painting, the transit route and the mode of transport determine the type of packaging used. A multitude of methods and material combinations are employed in practice, from simply wrapping in bubble wrap to the use of an elaborate double-insulated packing case.

Measurement journeys were carried out with the business partners, during which the vibration behaviour of test paintings was recorded in up to six different types of packaging at once.
The recordings will be used to shed light on the advantages and disadvantages of packaging methods and highlight ways in which they can be optimized.
